DOWIE'S MANTLE.
A new "Prophet" Dowie has arisen, in Ohio, who expects to take up the dead leader's mantle and found, a now Ziou. The now "Prophet" is Levi Lupton, who is the leader of a sect called "The Disciples of the C4ii"fc of Tongues." His headquarters at present are at Alliance, Ohio, and in compliance with ajhoavouly vision ho declares he will establish a faith which will spread ovei the world. Dunfon says he lias had revealed to him the rules under which the- adherents of the faith shall live. One of these rules limits the faithful to one meal a day, and the converts babble a gibberish invented by Lupicm. who claims that it is the tongue of the new nation. The sect is increasing, and converts arc even arriving from Europe, whither Lupton sent "disciples" some time ago. "Disciples" have also been sent all over the Union preaching the new religion.
