The carefully compiled schedules for the Spring Show to bo held on October 30th, 31st, and November Ist are now in pourso of distribution. The amounts allotted for prize money to the different classes are : —Horses, inclusive of competitions, ,£SOO, cattle ,£350, pure bred qittie .-£2BO, dairy cattle JMS, fat cattle £36, pure bred sheep £33i; fat sheep ijf>s, private prizes £l-i, pigs il 17, From a perusal of the schedule it will bo found that in several eases alterations have bc-eu made which should i.r every way tend to popularise this great annual fixture and provide a larger field for improving the breeds of stock. A groat deal of time and careful consideration must- have been devoted by the various committees in order to place before tho public a schedule which must appeal to every exhibitor. Exhibitors of draught hcu-ses should pay particular attention to class 58 as follows : For the best heavy draught stallion, ■% years of age or over, which shall measure not less than eleven inches of bone (without hah") in the small part of the canon, and shall be passed free by tho honorary veterinary surgeon or surgeons of the A. k 1\ Asso* elation, or any other Jf.K.C.Y.S. they may cheese to select, of the following diseases:—Ringbone, sidebones, stringhalt, and shivering. Tho Judge to take special care to see that the whining horse has good sound feet, well opened at the heels. All exhibits in this class must have been examined and passed by the surgeons prior to entering tho judging rir.g. First' prize, .£7, presented by Air V. J. Ellis ; 2nd prize, .£-1: 3rd prize, £.2.. The champion butter fat competition will'bo an interesting feature for \yhich entries close on September 17th, and \i open-to any grade, breed or cross. The prize money for the first three placed animals will be ,£lO, M and .£l, and a championship prize of ,£25 to bo won at threo yearly competitions, not necessarily in succession. The prize is to be won by the exhibitor and not necessarily with tho same cow. In fat cattle a nilver plate is to be presented by Messrs Barraud and Abraham for the most points. The sheep classes aro exceptionally well catered for. Besides the ordinary championship t.nd hr.rulsoiuo prizes, Messrs Q-iibbpll ih-os. have presented for competition tho "Quibbell Cup," to bo to tho host Eomney ram on the ground. A silver enp valued at .£lO 10s presented by the Wolseley Shearing Machine Coy. will bo awarded t-o tho Champion English Leicester tarn in wool. A!.- A. 31 liussell has donated a silver bowl valued at £l3 13s for tho champion Southdown ram in the wool. Separate classes appear for fleece wool in Lincolus, fiornney, English Leicester, Border Leicester Shropshire, Southdown, Hampshire, Merinp, lioscommon, Cheviot and Eyoland. In fat sheep 14 classes aro provided for wethers, ewes, and fat lambs. The prizes in all the pig classes havo been well maintained.

. An extensive prize list lias been prepared in tho poultry division, ; in pigeons fancy, homers and flying classes are well catered for.

i The Manawatu Kennel Club have kept their part of the show well in prominence, and the prizes as arranged should he instrumental in bringing forward large entries. Entry forms and schedules may 1)0 obtained from the secretaries of the New Zealand Kennel Club, and the Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Dunedin, Christchurch, and Wellington Kennel Clubs. ■ Those who visited the show hist year will remember the great attraction provided in tho fine arts department, and ibis year the edminitteo have so arranged the schedule that tho display should be much more comprehensive. Schedules can be obtained from tho Secretary or Messrs Gorton and Sons (Bulls and Kfeilding), Barmnd and Abraham (Dannoyirko and Feilding), Abraham and Williams (Pahiatua, Levin and Marton), and the Secretaries of tho various Agricultural and Pastoral Associations.
