Riders' Fees
The following rule was passed at the last annual meeting of tho NewZealand Racing Conference:—" No jockey shall bo weighed out for auy raco uuless the amount of his minimum fee,, as for a losing mount in tho race, has been previously deposited with tho Secretary or Clerk of the Scales, or other official appointed by the Stowards for that purpose. If lie wins, the balance of his fee shall be deducted from the stakes otherwise payable to tho owner, and shall bo paid to him. The Club shall bo responsible to the jockey for his minimum fee under thcso'rules, loss 2Vj' per cent thereon, to be deducted by the Club for collecting and paying, and for the responsibility hereby imposed." Itwill bo understood that any Club neglecting to comply with this rule will bo liable to every jockey for the amount of Ids losing fees, less 2to per cent. The rule applies to all race meetings, whether licensed or not licensed to use tho Totalisator.

The team includes the threo-year-Qlds Bonit'orm and Count Vv T itte and the three-year-old fillies Armlet (Menghikoff—Armillii) and Sunglow (Multiform —Otterden). Tlie latter two are engaged in the Breeders' Plate, which was won last year by Bonifcrm. Sunglow is a full sister to tho latter, .and also to tlia defunct Snngod. Count "Witto and Boniform both hold unbeaten records, and claim engagements in the A..T.C. Darby. Of tho principal winning owners in New Zealand during tho racing season just closed, the lion.' J.
