GiiEisTciirncn, August 12, A true bill was returned against William Barnard Rhodes Mcorhouso for manslaughter arising out of tho'death of a child on New Brighton beach who was run over by a motor cycle ridden by accused. Thomas Brown, a coloured man, was sentenced to fivo years' imprisonment for having committed an unnatural offence; John Urahaia received throe years for the theft of Xl7'Bs yd froiii a boarding house Wellington. August 12. Wilham MclCsy v.as convicted of obtaining .£2O by fake- pretences and was sentenced to two years' hard labour. Henry Peacock, who pleaded guilty to being in possession of a coining plant and counterfeit coins was remanded for sentence. Sydney MaeNauiara pleaded not guilty of keeping a common gaming house. The case was not concludod when the Court rose. Auckland, August 13. WiliUu Goorge Rashleigli, charged with L jdecout assault on a married woman, at Vhakatanc, was found not guilty on a second trial, and was discharged.
