SUICIDE.
Per Press Association. Wellington, August 11. An inquest was held on Saturday afternoon on the body of Charles Kitson, otherwise known as Frederick Whitehead, which was found in the stream at Wadestown. Fanny Whitehead, formerly Boss, said she married deceased at Capetown. He was a bricklayer, and they came to New Zealand a year ago. During the past i- :■.!,.„ .fc he had been depressed but had not told her what was on his mind, though she had often asked him to do so. Police-Sergt. Phail stated that on August Ist (the day on which the previous witness last saw deceased) Kitson called at the police-fetation and made the following voluntary statement: "lamabricklayer, and. reside at 2Vo. 1 Cambridge Terrace. On the 19th July, 1906, I married Fanny Eoss at Trinity Chapel, Capetown, being then a married man and my former wife being then alive. I was married in the name of Frederick Whitehead, but my name is Charles Kitson. Here in Wellington 1 made certain statements against Fanny Boss, which are absolutely untrue." The Coroner told Mrs Eoss sbe was now in the position of a free Y.oman, and not the widow of the late Kitson. A verdict was returned of suicide while temporarily insane.
