Edward Durnan, of Canada, lias cabled Webb challenging him to row at Toronto for .£SOO aside or upwards and championship of world, Durnan allowing Webb JiliO for expenses. Webb states ho will row Tre-sider in six months' time and unless defeated would then turn his attention to other challengers. Webb, however, prefers to row the race, on the Wanganni Eiver. The Mouowai sailed at 7 p.m. on Saturday with "Webb, the sculling champion, and the southern portion of N.Z. football team on board.
AVebb on being interviewed by a press representative before leaving said, "Stanbury will tell you we have a fine course on the Wanganui Kiver, and I <!o not see any reason why I should defend the championship elsewhere."
