FEILDING ATHLETIC CLUB.
The nmniid mooting of SVilding Ath ;otic Club was held i;;-1 evening, Mr ,1 Collingwood in the chair. The baton ou•diect showed a loss on tbs last sports of i-70. and the year ended with a debit hakim:'; of id 18s hd. It was pointed out that this result '.van probably due to other attractions, and that a.few equestrian events would improve the sports from a spectacular point of view. The balancesheet and report, as read, wore adopted. It was decided. t.> apply for the Borough Council subsidy towards getting the ground ready for sports meeting. Tho fidlonug officers were elected for the ensuing year :—l-hesidont, Mr F. V. Lethbridge, M. 11.11.; 'vacancies on committee, Messrs Sutton,'; S. Pirani, Evans, J. Collingwood, Ongley, Kennedy, Williams, K. Bartholomew, G. Barry, W. Watts, Jones; auditors, Messrs Aitken and Waokrill, re-elected. Kcsolved that the sprats he held Boxing Day as usual, abo that tho Drill and Oddfellows’ Hall he taken for the occasion. A donation l from Mr W. J. Williams was accepted with thanks. It was decided to canvass the town for cash and trophy donations. Mr .1. C'oiiingweod w;.s elected handicappcr. • 'i ho following - programme commitleo was appointed : —Ongley, Watts, Fisher, Collingwood, William?, G. Barry, with instructions to arrange a programme giving prises valued at £l5O cash, exclusive of trophies.
