Riccarton Training Notes.' Per Press Association. Christchurch, August 10. ! Driving rain from the south-west interfered witli training work at Riccarton all the morning. The outside course proper was closed and all work was done on No. 6 track. The going was good but as there are no distance, discs provided on tins track no times were taken that could ho considered accurate. Most of the horses were at work, many doing only light tasks, but those likely to he prominent in the coming meeting were put to schooling tasks over fences and hurdles.

The Hawke’s Day Jockey Club’s annual meeting was held to-day. The balancesheet showed a profit for the year of £2430 3s. It was decided to increase the stakes during the coming season by £IOOO.
