NEW FEDERAL DUTIES.

Among other duties raised aro the following :—Harley, to 2s; vegetables, dried, compressed find powder, 2s • other vegetables, 20 per cent; potato flour, 2(1; confectionery. I!pi : fish, fresh, dried and .smoked, 1 hi; poultry, fresh and dried, 2d; lionev, Liras, jellies, 2d; stoarine, waxes, lav’d, lard oil, refined oils Id per lb; tihle ri’t, 15 per cent, soap, 25 per cent; woodware, 40 per cent; paints, 4s Gd.

As a result of the tariff tho prices of a number of commodities have advanced, hut too rates as a rule have not yet settled down.
