PROFITABLE SHEEP DEAL.
The following interesting figures showing what lias been accomplished by a breeder of stud sheep, Mr l'\ R, Wright, of Okapua, Ohalton, in respect to the purchase of 50 stud Romney ewes which lie purchased eleven mouths ago for £l5O, have been supplied to the Mat-aura Ensign :—lt may he mentioned that four of the ewes died, and this has lessened the average profit per head, which, however, leaves little to bedesired, and shows what may be made out of studs by judicious selection, careful management and sale at the psychological moment. District sheep men consider that Mr Wright has probably achieved a colonial record. The. ’figures are as follow'; 50 stnd llomncr owes cost £l5O 0 0

The difference in the out goings and receipts shows a not profit of £240 14s 9d to have boon made in .the eleven mouths, or the extraordinary average, on the 50 owes, of £5 7s 3d per head.
