ARBITRATION COURT.
Per Press Association. WELLINa-fON, August 2. The industrial award in the General Labours’ Union dispute has been filed. The week’s work is not to exceed -IS hours, and shall be fixed by each employer to’spit his particular business. In tunnel work the hours must, not exceed eight per shift, and six hours will constitute a day’s work when men are working in wet places or in foul air. Tho minimum rates of wages for tunnel and timber iiiou will be 10s per shift. All other workers employed under 9s, —-nvrvmrm 9s, labourers not speciSKTIf employed comiTW’ for one week or more, Ss per clay, -oi a less period Is IjAd per hour. The award, which is not to affect contracts made before tho hearing |Ot the dispute, is to coiuo into force on September Ist next, and expire on September Ist, 1,909.
