A BRUTAL MURDER.

Press Association. —Oopyrig . Sydney, July 30. A murder has taken place at QuirindL George Tofft, while under the influence of liquor, visited the home ?o£ his sweetheart, a girl named Fletcher. They quarrelled, and ho induced the girl to accompany him to the rear of the house, where he shot her twice, and in addition battered in her head. Meeting an acquaintance Tofft said he had done for Fletcher, and added that he wanted to kill her father, then have a feed and do for himself. Tolft is missing. Sydney, July 31. Jealousy ■was the cause of the Quirindi tragedy.
