Stock Market.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Feilding, report as under for week ending July 27thAt Apiti on Tuesday there was a good demand for both sheep and cattle. A fair number of both classes of stock came forward and were readily quitted under the hammer. Sheep: Mixed lambs 12s lid to 14s, cull ewes in lamb 8s 3d, ewe lambs 15s 9d, f.m. ewes in lamb 19s Id. Cattle: 8 year heifers in calf £3 ss, 2 year heifers in calf £2 10s, empty heifers 80s, mixed yearlings £2 4s, store cows 335, fat bullocks £6 15s. On Wednesday at Feilding wo held a special dairy sale. There were not many buyers present, and the quality of the stock offered was not very good, consequently a poor sale resulted. Any cows in good condition and close to profit made fair values. Good springing heifers made £4 5s to £4 13s 6d, springing cows £4 to £7 15s, backward heifers in calf £3, store cows 80s. On Friday at FeUding wo yarded 3500 sheep and had a medium entry of cattle. Buyers were present for most lines, and very few pens were unsold, and a steady tone prevailed. Good quality breeding ewes sold well, bub medium ewes were slightly easier. lu the cattle pens female sorts were dull of sale and several lines were passed. Sheep: Medium hoggets 13a 9d to 15s Id. 4 tooth wethers 17s lid, cull wethers 11s Id, store owes 10s Id, f.m. breeding ewes 17s, 3, 4 and 6 tooth breeding ewes 255. Cattle: Fat bullocks £7 10s, yearling steers 27s 6d, store COWS 27s to 345, cows in calf £3 2s Cd, Heifers iff calf £3, fat cows £3 13s.
