Messrs Datgety and 00., Ltd. .report on their Feilding sale as follows: —We had a good yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle. The following is a list of prices realised: 4, 6 and f.in. ewes in lamb 18s, 3-tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb 17s 7d, aged do. 13s Gd, hoggets 14s 6d, cull lambs 6s, empty cows 3s 6d. Messrs Gorton and Son report;— At Fielding sale on Friday there was a large attendance of buyers, both local and from Wanganui and Taranaki districts. We had a large yarding of she«p and a fair number of cattle. Bidding for all classes of sheep was spirited, especially for lambs and good breeding ewes, which showed a decided rise.on last week’s quotations. A very attractive line of Lincoln-Romney 3-tooth ewes in iamb, bred by Mr B. J. Riddiford, and sold on behalf of Mr Job Harris, realised 80s. We quote : 3-tooth to f.f.m.'ewes in lamb 18s sd, 19s 7d and 28s 3d, 4-year ewes in lamb 28s 6d, f.m. ewes in lamb to Southdown rams 14s 7d, f.m. ewes and lambs to English Leicester rams 12s 4d, old empty ewes 5s lOd, empty ewes 9s 9d, 10s Gd, and 13s lOd, fat and forward ewes 14s, mixed lambs 12s 6d to 13s Gd, ewe lambs 16s 4d, small cull lambs 5s 8d to 9s 4d, store wethers 16s Gd to 18s. Cattle : Mixed weaners and yearlings 24s Gd, poor weaner heifers 7s, forward bullocks £4 19s Gd to £5 10s, 2-year steers £4, fat cows £3 16s and £4 ss, springing heifers £3 6s 6d, £3 7s 6d and £4 10s, bulls 30s to 355.
