Otago Trades and Labour Council has passed the following resolution ; “That this Council cutres an emphatic protest against tho fiction of the Government in receding from the position taken up last session in refereruco to the laud question, more especially in connection with the further sale of Crown lauds, and granting to Crown tenants tho right to acquire tho freehold, as tho Council is of opinion that all unsold, Crown lauds should be reserved for endowment purposes. The Council considers the position taken up by the Government on this question is such that it has forfeited all claim to support from workers, and in the event of the Bill passing into law with the provision referred to urges the Labour party of New Zealand scrio; ; ly to consider the advisability - ox withdrawing its support from the present administration. ’ ’
