RANGITIKEI HUNT.

Annual BallTlie annual ball this year again attracted visitors from all parte of the. West Coast, both Raugitikei Hunt and the farming community being thoroughly well represented. Members of the hunt extended a warm welcome to their numerous guests, and the function was a splendid success. The hall was brilliantly lighted, and was profusely decorated, tlio walls and ceiling being bedecked with flags and greenery, as well as numerous emblems of the hunting field, the whole having a most pleasing effect. The work of decorating was done by the committee and a number of willing hands. Great enthusiasm was shown by the ladies, and much of the success is no doubt due to them. The supper, provided on an elaborate scale, was left almost entirely in their hands, and they worked most assiduously, excelling their best efforts. A capital dancing floor had been prepared, and the cool atmosphere rendered dancing enjoyable. A striking feature of the gathering was the excellent music of Mr Bert Orozier’s accomplished orchestra, and seldom before lias snob an assemblage been so perfectly satisfied. The music was of very high order and commented on most favourably. The orchestra comprised—Piano, Mr Bert Orozier; violin, Mr W. A. J. Orozier; cornet, Mr C. Gomez; oboe, Mr L. Jones; piccolo, Mr B. Jones; bass viol, Mr W. Peacock; bass trombone, Mr A. H. Sutcliffe. Extras were played in a finished manner by Misses Russell, Bryce, Page, and Fitzroy, and Mr Bert Orozier. The duties of M’s. 0. were effectively and pleasantly carriedgout by the committee as follows Messrs H. F. Arkwright, A. H. Bill., A. Oamerou, K. Dalrymple, H. Gaisford, G. Galpiu, and J. Simpson. These gentlemen, with the able assistance of the popoular Master, Mr D. G. Riddifordrd, and the hard-working secretary, Mr G. F. Bishop, are to he congratulated on their highly successful efforts. Visiting huntsmen were present from Hawke’s Bay, Wanganui, and Hawera, and expressed themselves delighted with the excellent arrangements and complete success of the 1907 ball.
