CLAIM FOR DAMAGES

Per Pi ess Association Qbeymouth, July 15. At the District Court to-day before Judge Haseldon and a jury of four the hearing commenced of a claim for £SOO damages by Walter Scott and Catharine Scott against Hugh Cassidy, coach proprietor, for the death of their infant child caused by a coach accident on the OtiraChristchurch Road. The case for plaintiff lasted all day. Evidence was in the direction of stating that coach was.not strong enough several portions of "the broken coach being produced in Couit. It was stated it was “ dozed ” or had dry rot. Davis, a former driver of Cassidy £ Co. for 16 years, attributed the accident to unskilful driving. The case will he resumed to-morrow and is likely to last the wholo day. 1
