NATIONAL LIBERAL CLUB.
Prime Minister’s Speech. Per Press Association —Copyright. London, July 8.
Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman, speaking at the National Liberal Club, ridiculed the Hon. A. Lyttelton’s vote of censure. The Colonial friends of Government were aware that their decision on preferential trade was a foregone conclusion after last election. The Hon. A. Lyttelton’s motion deceived nobod v and only afforded Protectionists a cheap advertisement and would only stimulate Liberals to hold fast to freetrade and press forward for social and political reforms which the Colonies already enjoy.
