ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. —Copyright. Sydney, July 5. Three men were killed and three injured through a blasting [accident in a railway cutting at Wolgan. Press Association, Invercargill, July 5. A farmer named ijHarry Norman fell off a train near Orepulii and was so sevorolv injured that lie died soon after. He leaves a widow and ten of a family. Wellington, July 5. An accident occurred on tho railway works between here and Petone by which Henry Telford, a married man 56 years of ago, was bidly crushed in the chest by a fall of earth. Hastings, July 6> A motor car, driven by Mr T. E. Crosse, was run into by a train when entering the station this morning. Mr Crosse endeavoured to negotiate the crossing before the train approached hut tho oar stopped on the line and the forepart was struck by the engine and the car upset. Mr Crosse had his shoulder blade broken, Miss Smitzer, a school teacher, was seriously injured about the head and body, and Mrs Crosse and daughter escaped unhurt. The occupants had a miraculous escape as the engine threw the car clear of the train and tho car was badly mutilated.
