Per Press Association CnmsTCiumcn, July 1. Michael Foggerty, ithe man found in a sly-gro'g shop during a recent raid by the police, was charged to-day before Mr Day, S.M., with being an idle and disorderly person, and an associate of thieves and vagrants. On this charge he was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment. A charge of being found in a sly-grog shop was withdrawn by the police. Napier, July 1. At the Supreme Court to-day a civil action Sowman v. Dimviddio, Walker and Co., Ltd., for alleged libel in connection with the last Hastings Poultry Show, was withdrawn after evidence had been taken, each party to pay their own costs. An application by J. J. Patterson for a dissolution of partnership between himself and J. J. Blackburn was granted. The evidence given was similar to that in tte previous trial and the Court adjourned at 8.50 till Tuesday morning, accused being liberated on £2OO bail. Auckland, July 1.
Mr Justice Denniston granted a decree nisi in the divorce case, Charlotte Amelia Stone v. Bernard Mark Stone, desertion.
