A meeting of the general committee was held lass night,- Mi H. Booth, president, in the chair. A letter was read from the Wanganui Education Board thanfeing the Association for" fcneptu:agemeni offered to teachers and SOMctql children in regard to school garden Competitions. „ . ■ , From same, offering to co-operate with the As<3ociation if competitions were held at the Association's show in the manipulation of apparatus for scientific dairying.—Eef erred to Cattle Committee', From Nelson A. and P. Association, notifying that its annaal show would he held on November 26th and 27th. From Arthur L. Joseph, asking that his fee as judge be placed to the prize fund for a class of freezing teg lamte over 43lte and not to exceed SOlhs freezing weights, fie suggested that judfees should tornstructed to consider quality before weight.—Referred to Schedule CommitteeT . . .„„ From J. R. Corngan, resigning membership.—Resignation accepted, j From the Wellington Meat Export j Co , stating that irrespective of weight the sheep exhibited in class 89, best for freezing, the prizes , should bo awarded Ist to J..H. Booth and 2nd and 3rd to Hon. John Bryce.—Owing to the conditions on which the prizes should be awarded j not being sufficiently clear, it was decided not to award a prize this year, but to add the money to the same class next year, and make the rules more explicit. ,„,,_, . Baker, and tho President. School Gardens: Messrs' Mayo (convenor), Jackson, Atkinson, and McLennan._ Horses and Competitions i Messrs J. Wilson (convenor,) Gorton. HcElroy, Haggitt. Mcleod, and the President. Produce, Homo Industries, etc. : Messrs Bramwell (convenor), Goodbehere, Cobbe, Mayo, Bruce, and Bowater. Ground Committee: Messrs Gorton, Burrell, Campbell, Booth, Wilson, Jackson and Knight. It was decided to 'hold the next shew on February 4th and sth. It was stated that Messrs Bramwell Bros, would give 10 guineas, Mr Heailey 2 guineas, Mr Campion 3 guineas, Mr F. W. Koberstein 3 guineas, and Mr S. Sorensen 2 guineas. t tt Messrs J. M. Jackson, H. M. Hare, J. Purkiss, J. Ferguson, P. Heneghan, H.< L. Carr, E. Thomas, W. Cameron, and P. O'Callaghan were elected members.
