ANDREW BLACK—PREMYSLAV CONCERT.

The box plan for the Black-Preiny-slav concert opens at Mogridge's today. It is certainly a very uncommon occurrence to have such a complete concert company visiting us. The world's artists on one platform, with the addition of a brilliant soprano and pianiste, will give'a wide choice for enjoyment. Mr Black is a very renowned singer and Mr Premyslav is credited with being on a level with the world's greatest fiddlers. In Sydney Hor ExceLency Lady Northcoto frequently invited the Polish violinist to Government House to play to her. A Wellington exchange thus comments: —'' Tho best must win" has again been exemplified, this time in connection with the Wellington season of the concert company headed by Mr Andrew Black and M. Leopold Premyslav, which attracted the best house of the Beason last night. So surprisingly meritorious have these concerts been, that were the company to give another trio of performances such as have afforded so much intense pleasure, the Town Hall would be taxed to accommodate tho people. At this, the outset of the company's tour of New Zealand' other plaoes to be visited need not wait for locai opinion, but can take for granted that the company is one of the finest combinations of concert artists that this colony has' ever heard. The "lioi" of lasteve.iing's performance was certainly M. Premyslav, whose magnificent violin playing has'been the theme of general conversation in local-musical circles, and whose superb tone and masterful technique have marked him as-one of the forefront artists of to-day. One of his contributions, Htibay's "Le Zephir, "is a clever trifle that aims at exhausting the possibilities of the instrument, and it gained for the player the ovation he deserved. Mr Black, though suffering from a severe cold, sang like the artist he rs. Miss Rosina Buckman's and Miss Bessie Beatty's contributions were mobt meritorious.
