THE FIRE BOARDS.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, June 10. Mr London, the Mayor, has resigned his position as a member of the Fire Board in consequence of a representative of the insurance companies having been appointed to the chair. The resignation of another city repretentative is also rumoured. Dunedin, June 11. Or. Small, one of tlie City Council’s representatives on the Fire Board, has also resigned out of sympathy with the Mayor and as a protest against the action of the third representative on the Council. Cr. Sullivan, an insurance agent, is proposing Mr Cray for the chairmanship.
