KING’S COUNSEL.
The Hew Appointments. Per Press Association. Wellington, Juno 7. The announcement is made to-day of the names of King’s Counsel appointed. All the applicants’ names were forwarded to tire Chief Justice, who recommended the following ten :—H. D. 8011, M. Chapman, C. P. Skerrott, J. G. Findlay (At-torney-General), Wellington; Hon. J. A. Tole, 8.A., L.L.8., F. E. Baumo, L.L.8., Auckland; B. T. J. Joyut, T. W. Stringer, Christchurch; J. H. Hosking, S. Solomon, 8.A., Dunedin. The Chief Justice, in a covering letter, said that if the honour is to be appreciated not more than ten should bo appointed. Wclliugron ■is given four and the other centres two each, because two Judges sit in Wellington and the Appeal Court also sits there. In making the recommendation seniority and continued service at the Bar were considered, and other things being equal University degrees weighed in in favour of a coudidatel The gentlemen recommended will receive their letters patent on taking the usual oath of office.
