The new and roitiantic military; drama'' The Midnight Wedding'' will form the attraction of the rettipl season of Messrs Meynell and Gunn 8 "Fatal Wedding " Company, whicH takes place at Marton Opera Hous<s on Wednesday, June 12th,' for one. night only. The occasion will be, moro notable by tho appearance with this company of the disr; tinguished actor, Mr Harcourt Beatty, who was specially engaged whilst, in America. Mr Beatty is a i strong favourite with New Zealauders, who recollect his splendid [performance as King Ohaarles in "Sweet Noll of Old Drury" and other plays in which Miss Nellie Stewart and Mr Harcourt Beatty figured so prominently. Theatregoers will welcome back this organisation, which attained such widespread popularity on its visit last June, and such favourites as Misses May Congdon, Amy Singleton, Messrs R. Leigh, 0. R. Stallford, Tom Cannam, Rutland Reckett,', and Leopold Stach are still with the company, which has been augmented; for this and the other productions by several well-known artists in the persons of Messrs James Lindsay, Conway Wingfield, and Miss Winnifr'ed Gunn. The famous chilrden's scene from the ever-popular "Fatal Wedding" will be presented in all its pristine fglory, including the original 30 tiny favourites compriisng "The Tin-can Baud" in new songs and -dances. The box plan opened at Mogridge's this morning, and a ;hoavy sale of seats wasrecorded.' Applications by letter will secure prompt attention. Already numerous telegrams are being received from all parts of tho country.
