THE RIVAL MAIL SCHEME.
Press Association —Copyright. London, May 30.
Mr Potter confirms tho information oabled on tho 25th, and states:—Wo have forced our way through the most formidable relentless opposition of the shipping companies opposed to tho now mail scheme, whose interest is to hold back the progress of Australia’s shipping the better to conserve its selfish shipping monopoly to the detriment of Australian producers and tho travelling public. My offer now before Australia not only safeguards the States joining in tho interest guarantee, as the money payment offered can be used for tho purpose of insurance, but tends to the great betterment of their producing, commercial and other interests in every way. A plain proposition fraught with groat national prospects now awaits answer.
