(Per Association.'l i*Af..«>;KSTO,\ N.. May 27. A. young man named iDrnesfc Wheeler was drowned in the Manawiitu River, near *Ashlvnrst, tliis afternoon. An iuquost will bo held. An inquest was hold to-day touching the * death of John Feeney, flaxmiller, who crushed his finger in a stripepr at Kairauga on the 17th instant, and underwent an operation for the removal of same on Saturday morning, and died under chloroform. A verdict was returned that death was duo to paralysis of the heart, duo to chloroform poisoning, every care having been taken in the administration of the anaesthetic.
