FIRE AT AWAHURI.
The residence o£ Mr W. S. Phillips, of Awahuri, was totally destroyed by fire at 9.13 last night. The origin of the fire is a mystery. Mr and Mrs Phillips were having supper at the time, and the fire broke out in one of the front rooms and was not observed till it got a good hold. The building contained six rooms, and with the furniture, was insured, but particulars were not available last night. Unfortunately practically nothing was saved. ■ ■
