THE PRICE OF FLOUR.
Another Advance of 10s per ton. Press Association. Dunedin, May 16. Tho Otago Daify Times states that the directors of the N.Z. Flourruillers’ Assotion at their ordinary monthly meeting held in Christchurch, decided to advance the price of flour by another 10a per ton, making a total rise of £1 per ton within a week. The reason for this rise is obviously the advance in the price of flour in the Commonwealth, thus mating importations from that source prohibitive. It has been matter of common knowledge that the possibility of the importation of Australian flour has been a factor militating against any advance in the New Zealand commodity, despite the gradual hardening of' the wheat market. Now, however, that wheat is hardening all over the world an advance has been established in Australia, and should the excitement continue the outlook is for higher prices for flour and bread throughout the winter.
