Per Press Association. Wellington, May G. The annual meeting of tho New Zealand Chess Association was held to-night, A letter _was received from Hon. J. Bigg, suggesting that for tho future cash prizes should not be given at championship contests. No action was taken.Mr Justice Denniston was elected President, and Mr F. D. Sharp secretary and treasurer.
It was decided that in future Congress should bo held at Easter instead ef Christmas, and that nest Congress be held in Juno. A resolution regarding reduction of time limit was held over till June meeting.
