Tho secretary thought the proposition a most important ouo as bearing on tlio future of the game. Several of the delegates strongly opposed tho proposal and thought the encouragement of tho boys should bo left to local unions and more attention snonld bo given to encouraging and assisting smaller unions. Against this it was urged that if somo such scheme was not adopted too boys would bo diverted to oilier forms of sport such as “soaker” football which was growing in favour. _ A vote was taken to tost tho feeling of the meeting, and it wont against th proposal. A mot io ito terminate the conference as a more waste of time was lost and the mooting adjourned for lunch.
