THE COASTAL SURVEY.
Press Association. Auckland, May 2. Mr Millar states that the press telegram regarding the survey of the Now Zealand coast by the Hinemoa is incorrect. Ho is negotiating through Sir Joseph Ward to secure for this work one of the Admiralty sloops, at present laid up at Hong Kong. If the sloop is secured she will be manned and worked by the New Zealand Government, and will commence with a survey of the east coast of the North Island. Bear Island, 'Kidnappers, and other points are wrongly charted. When the North slant! survey is completed the South Island charts will be tested at various points. If the existing charts prove incorrect a now survey will be made.
