(Per Press Associatifn ' Auckland, May 2. The Captain of thelsteamer Suffolk reports that after leaving Sydney on Thursday, ho sighted the Barquentino lima from Thames signalling for assistance. The Suffolk stood by from 10 p.m. till next morning, when the lima reporter that she was short of .provisions. Those were supplied and the lima resumed her voyage. ' Though the vessel is supposed to carry provisions foip-10 days, she was onlyjtwclvo days out from Thames 'and the fact of her ruuding short of supplies is likely to form the subject of an inquiry.
