Sydney, May 1, Sensational developments have occurred in the coaling trouble. The coaling of the Norddeutscher Lloyd steamer Prinz Sigismund with nom unionists was to have commenced this afternoon. Several hundred strikers and others collected in the vicinity of the Company’s wharf at Circular Quay, and when the non-unionists marched down without police escort the crowd set upon them and brutally assaulted them, about 20 being more or less injured.

A strong force of police arriving m stored order, but not before several ol them were roughly handled.

Six arrests were made-

There was much excitement and thousands congregated on the wharf watching later stages of the disturbance.
