THE RABBIT PEST.

During the last few weeks Mr C. Watson, of the Stock Department, has been engaged in making investigations regarding the' spread of rabbits in the Sandon Block and adjoiuingjdistricts.; His report on the district was submitted to the meetings held at Pakihikura and Peep o' Day last week, and we shall publish it shortly for general information. While in the district Mr Watson instructed land-holders in the proper method of preparing the poison, and gave practical illustrations as to the most effective way of laying the mixture. He considers that the lack of concerted action on the part of farmers to destroy the pest, has much to do with its rapid increase. If energetic efforts are made before the rabbits become very numerous ao great difficulty will be experienced iu keeping them within bounds.
