Dunedin, April 17.

At Dunedin Police Court this mprning, before Mr C, C. Graham, 8.M., George Stanley Sharp was charged that between August Ist and October 29th, 1906, he did break and enter the premises of James Rattray and Son, and steal therefrom 113 boxes of cigarettes and two boxes of tobacco valued at £9O 12s Bd. Chief-De-tective Herbert asked permission to add to information a COlb tin of Havelock tobacco valued at £2O. Chief-Detective Herbert, in evidence, said that accused, through his solicitor, had intimated that at the proper "time he was prepared to admit having received the tobacco, but denied having committed tho major offence of breaking and entering. Accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial.
