TEACHERS' SALARIES.

Dunedin, April 17.

There lias been u. piviposal to pay school teachers their salaries through the Post Office Department and thereby avoid the cost of exchange on cheques necessitated by the present method of payment. To-day the Otago Board approved of the principle of payment through the Post Office. The secretary mentioned that a change would be an immense improvement for country teachers, who would much rather be paid through tho Post Office than tho Bank.
