ALLEGED ASSAULT.

Per Press Association. Dunedin, April 10.

On March 31st a serious assault is alleged to have occurred at Komahaka. Isaac Hutring, a fiaxraill owner, is alleged to have assaulted Frederick Field, a labourer, kicking him, attempting to choke him, and dragging him along the railway line some distance. Afterwards Hurring is alleged to have tired several shots at Field from a gun. He was arrested and remanded to 12th inst. on a charge of shooting with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
