Average price to-day tor New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, for brands other than Canterbury 4%.d There is scarcity of heavy weights. ' . Tliere is a better dcmmia tor beet, the average price bing 3}Al aud 3%d per lb for hinds and fores respectively. , ~ , The butter market is dull except for best quality. Some holders of butter arc forcing sales, aud buyers are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. Avorasge price choicest N Z. butteriWs per cwt., Victorian 975, Danish 105 s, Siberian 03s. The cheese market is sligtly weaker with less demand. . The hemp market -is very quiet. Owing to large shipments arriving from Manila the marklot is speculative. New Zealand good fair grade on spot is £33 per ton, April to June sbipmeuts£34 10s, Manila hemp fair current grade on spot is worth New Zealand hemp m stock. to Tiio ccocksfoot seed market is firm aud there are only light stocks on hand. Buyers have been offering for seed more freely; 11 lbs bright dressed seed is 53s per cwt.
