WEDDING.
A quiet and pretty wedding was solem’nised at Foilding Wesleyan Church yesterday by the Rev. C. E. Beecroft, When Mr Gilbert Leslie Darvell, formerly of the literary staff of the Peilding Star, was unfitCd in the boffds of nratrimosiiy to Miss Victoria* May Harfotdy secoad daughter of Mt O. 3. Halford of tba& town. The bride who was given away by her father, looked exceedingly hand* Suiri" being attired in a dress of eta-, tyrqidorod iriueliri trimmed with chiffon lapis) With the' usiM veil and oAlngo' blossoms. ~ Slio also carried A ibvdl/ bridal bouquet of ferns and white floweiri; The bridesmaids. Miss Birdie James arid Miss Arinis Harford, were attired iri bishop’s lawn, with hats to match, arid wore gold brooches the gift of tho bride-, groom. Miss James carried a beautiful bouquet of roses. Mr A. G.' McFarland of Palmerston North, acted ns best man, and Mr M. C. Darvell of Dannevirke, as groomsman, Mendlessohn’s 1 ‘ W edding March ” was played as tho bridal party left the church. At the conclusion of tho ceremony, the guests assembled at tho residence of the bride’s parents, whore an excellent ropast was partaken of and tho customary toasts duly honoured. Tho happy couple took their departure by the morning train for Napier, the bride’s travelling dress being cream serge trimmed with white satin. A very largo number of valuable presents were given to the young couple.
