Press Association. Auckland, April 1. The Auckland Pacing Club’s autumn meeting opened to-day in excellent weather. There was a largo attendance, and betting was brisk, .£15,256 10s being put through the tote, as against .£13,102 of corresponding day Last year. The Club worked a double machine for the first time, the combination being Tramway and Easter Handicaps. Cambrian was soon out in front with Tui Cako ban and Uranium next a couple of lengths in front of a bunched field, while Waipnna, -Eolus and Master Delaval were lying a long way hack. The first mentioned three entered the straight together. Once in the homo run Waipuna put in a great run on the rails and won a splendid race by half a length from Uranium, with ..Eolus, who finished very fast, a neck away third. The going was consequently heavy but the racing was fairly interesting. The principal handicap event was won from end to end.
