Montigo however moved up considerably but with two furlongs to go, there was still a big gap between him and Gazoley and Volume who wore still fighting it out in front. The last named vigorously and cleverly ridden by young JL’arramoro, hold Gazcley at bay, winning by a bare length, with Bourrasque only a nook behind Gazeley. The favorite finished fourth.
