Objects to a Beauty Show. Press Association. Ciikistchuecii, March 16. ■ The projected beauty show at Wonder land Exhibition has been abandoned. Mr H. G. Ell, M.B R., te'egraphed to Mr Fowlds, expressing astonishment at the authorities sanctioning such a vulgar and demoralising exhibition as a beauty show and asking if every wholesome sentiment which the people of the colony hold dear should be sacrificed to the craze for money-getting ? Mr Powlds replied that the proposed beauty show was promoted by the proprietor of Wonderland. He was not aware that the Exhibition authorities had sanctioned it in any way, but was making inquiries.
