MANGAONOHO.

A dance was held at Mrs Ball's on February 28th as a welcome to Mr and Mrs Mason, who have returned from their honeymoon. Dancing, interspersed with songs, was kept up with great vigor till the early hours of the morning, and, despite the heat, everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Mr Baird has sold his store to Mr Mason and intends returning to Australia shortly. While regretting Mr Baird’s departure the people of Mangaonoho will wish him long life and prosperity in his native laud. Some more changes will soon take place. Mr Hale has sold his farm to Mr Harley, of Auckland, who will he coming to live there shortly, and Mr G. Green lias sold his farm to Mr Mason, and leaves for the South Island immediately. . Mr and Mrs Ellis have arrived home after snendinga most enjoyable holiday in'the Waikato, of which I hope to give an account later on. The school examination is to be held here in a fortnight’s time, when the children will know if they have made good use of their time and learned their lessons well.
