At Mogridge’gs tho bos plan for the evening concert is on view, and day sale tickets for both performances* may now be purchased. In the event of rain both concerts will be given iu the Town Hall. A Dunedin paper, writing on the baud’s opening performance, said that “great things Were expected, for the baud’s reputation had come on ahead ; hut thejirealisation eclipsed all anticipatory joys. The instru-. meuts, each and every one perfectly manipulated, combined to produce a grand organ tone that set every listener, s ears tingling with pleasure and evoked storms of applause. It was a revelation in the possibilities of band music, and must be as educative to our local bandsmen as it is enjoyable to the general public. The programme was so arranged as to bring out all the splendid qualities of the players. All the throbbing elements of life were in tho enchanted music that poured from the instruments of ductile brass.”
