NEW ZEALAND RED DEER.
Per Press Association. IVr.r.T.rxGTON’, March 7. Tho marked difference in the Otago and Wairarapa herds of red deer has led to an enquiry as|qo Whether the original importations were from the same stocks, or whether some were German or some were Scotch. Information now to hand through the High Commissioner discloses the fact that all the. deer imported were Scotch. It is evident, therefore, that tho difference in climate and feed has produced the change, the Otago deer resembling tho original type, while in Wairarapa, whore there is a more gonial climate, they have grown larger.
