Yeo, Auckland, and Jackson, senr., Wellington, also totalled G 7 for the two ranges, with 23 and 34 and 34 and 33 respectively at 200 and 500 yards. In the 500yds of the Auckland Match, Sontag (Dunedin) and Ballinger (Wellington) put up the possibles. Yeo (Auckland), Milroy (Nelson), Jackson, senr. (Wellington) and Arthur Ballinger (Petono) were the top scorers in the two ranges with 07. The COOyds was completed early in the afternoon. Hansen was first prize winner in the match. The COUyds range of the Wellington Match (600 and 700yds, 10 shots) was fired and concluded by tea time. There wore no possibles, hut Frank (Nelson), Duley (Dannevirko), Halhday (Karori) • and Henderson (Waimakariri) each put up 48, and A. It. Ayson (Murihiku), Kennio and Lester (Christchurch) each made 47. The 800yds continuous match was started. March 1. Firing commenced at eight o’clock at two separate ranges, half the competitors proceeding to the 700 yards to tiro ten : shots to complete the Wellington match, I and the other half went to 800 yards I range to start the Canterbury match! (800, 900, and 1000 yards), seven shots. The light was had at the start, but ini - proved later. A steady loft rear light breeze was blowing. At 700 the shooting was ordinary, 45 by Handley (Wanganui) being so far top range score, with W. Pandall (Palmerston North) next with 44. Frank Nelson is top scorer for the two ranges with 90, Handloy (Wanganui) and Crimp (Dunedin) each 88, W. Eandall 86. There arc several 84’s. In the Canterbury Match at 800 yards Mnronzi (Ekotahuna) and Turner (Karori) put.up possibles. The highest range scorer so far is Cameron (Opaki) 33. The Wellington match finished at noon, The wind during the last hour freshened and varied from 7 degrees right to 7 loft, and shooting suffered accordingly. Lester (Canterbury) who came back with 47, put up 43, thus heating Frank Nelson (who also made 90) on the long range. W. Ballinger had very bad luck at this range, making eight bulls, then a four, with a miss. Hi a score was 88 for thom&tch. Ecnnio (Canterbury) totalled 80 at 800. The Canterbury match has just finished. Hills (Dunedin) made a third possible. Mugricigo (Palmerston North), Dewar (Oamam), W. Speck (Huiroa), Young (Oarnarn), Harding (Blenheim), all scored 33. Lester wins the 'VVcllmgton match and Frank is second.
