Disastrous Shipwreck. Press Association- Copyright. London, February 21. v There are severe gales iu England and Northern Europe, the wind having a velocity of GO miles an hour. The Great Eastern Railway Company's steamer Berlin, from Harwich, was wrecked near Rotterdam. She was driven ashore at 5 o’clock in the morning on Yoorn Island, and quickly broke amidships. Tugs and lifeboats vainly tried to approach, but tho heavy seas running prevented them. There ware a lew persons still clinging to the wrack at noon, but the chances of rescue ace hopeless. Tha Berlin had 120 passengers, including Arthur Herbert, King’s Messenger, and 16 members of the German Opera Company from Coveut Garden Theatre. The craw nnmI bered 60. Only two persons were j saved. 25 bodies have been recovered.
