SLAUGHTERMEN’S STRIKE.
Ftv Press A ssociation. Wellington, February 15. The slaughtermen's strike continues. At a meeting last night tire men decided that as the companies had refused to increase their offer from 22s Cd to 23s they (the men) would revert to their old demand and refuse work under 25.5. It now appears that the companies wore prepared to pay 23s for freezers and a slightly lower rate for others, but this oiler docs not appear to have reached tho men until too late last night. Hopes of a settlement are entertained.
