The house of Mr Charles Wertheimer in Park Lane was entered by burglars, and pictures and articles of virtu valued at £SOOO were stolon, including Gainsborough's picture of Nancy Parsons and Reynold’s portrait of Mrs Charles Yorks, valued at £2OOO. The pictures were unskilfully cut from thoir frames with a carving knife-.
